Bob Allen, former publisher of The Wake Weekly died today at home surrounded by family and friends.
He was 91.
Bob was a fixture in North Carolina journalism for over seventy years.
I had the pleasure of working with Bob for a couple of years when I ran The Butner Creedmoor News and he would help me edit my pages. His encouragement and praise meant a great deal to me.
The staff of The White Street Journal sends our thoughts and prayers to the Allen family.
