History of Wake Forest Baptist Church now available in new book

From WSJ Staff Reports

Wake Forest Baptist Church in Wake Forest has now available for purchase a history of the church published by Mercer University Press.

Our Story of Faith: The History of Wake Forest Baptist Church 1835-2015 was written by Timothy Shaun Price. The book recently won the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina’s historical writing competition.

Wake Forest Baptist Church was established in 1835 and is one of the most prominent Baptist churches in North Carolina. Beginning with a prayer meeting among Wake Forest College students seeking revival, its location on the campus of Wake Forest College gave the church a distinction and importance that was forever tied to its academic neighbor.

Some of the great names among Baptists have come through this church either as pastor or guest minister. Throughout its history, members of the church have sought to follow the leadership of the Spirit and minister to its local community.

Orders for the book can be placed on the church website.
