Three residents of Hillside Nursing Center of Wake Forest have died from COVID-19, according to the NCDHHS.

There are currently 11 staff members and 57 residents who have tested positive for the virus, based on a bi-weekly report from the Department of Health and Human Services released Friday.

When contacted about a community report to the WSJ earlier last week about deaths at the center, Hillside Administrator Josh Stevens would not confirm nor deny they occurred.

β€œIt has to get worse before it gets better,” he said then, referring to the virus at the center.

The center has 130 beds.

The cases from the previous state reports show the Hillside COVID-19 cases increased from eight to 11 staff members and from 56 to 57 residents, with the deaths occurring in the last 10 days.

North Carolina has 114,538 confirmed cases of the virus, with 1,823 deaths reported from COVID-19, according to DHHS.

There have been 4.4 million cases reported in the United States, with 150,444 COVID-19 deaths
