The Wake Forest planning board voted 6-3 Tuesday night to recommend the site plan for a development near the new Wegman’s to the Wake Forest board of Commissioners.
The plan calls for the building of 232 apartments and 122 townhouses. The plan also includes six commercial lots. The size of the lot is about 50.5 acres.
Planning board members Thomas Ballman, Jim Stephandis and Michael Hickey voted against the plan.
The developer of the project is the Stiles Corporation.
The Wake Forest Board of Commissioners will make the final decision on the project.
Other actions taken by the planning board Tuesday night were:
· Unanimously recommended the Grove 98 rezoning and subdivision plan.
· Voted 5-4 to deny recommending master site plan for Hawthorne at Traditions. Joe Kimray, Collen Sharpe, Chris Joyner and Karin Kuropas voted against.
· Unanimously recommended approval of subdivision plan for Hawthorne at Traditions.
· Recommended approval of the master subdivision plan for Forest on Franklin Townhomes. Joyner voted against.
