South Wingate/West Sycamore intersection to be converted to all-way stop

From WSJ Staff Reports

During its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 15, the Wake Forest Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to add an all-way stop at the intersection of South Wingate Street and West Sycamore Avenue.

The Board’s decision was based on concerns about pedestrian safety and limited crosswalk visibility for pedestrians attempting to cross South Wingate in the vicinity of Wake Forest Elementary School.

Public Works officials say they expect to install the all-way stop in the next few weeks, well before students return to school from summer break.
