Wake Forest VFW Post 8466 ceremoniously adopts the Louisburg National Guard Unit

A formal ceremony was conducted at the Louisburg Armory, Sunday August 8, 2021, at an assembly of Headquarters, 5th Battalion, 113th Field Artillery Regiment. The ceremony included a presentation of a Veterans of Foreign Wars official Adoption Certificate creating a stronger liaison between the Wake Forest Memorial VFW Post and the Army National Guard unit as it prepares to carry out the country’s world-wide missions. Presenting the certificate to Unit Commander, Captain Cody Byrd, is Past Post Commander and current District 7 Commander, David Martin, observing the presentation is Post Quartermaster, Charlie Cable and Unit Coordinator, Sergeant First Class, Aaron Jones. Soldiers were treated to a good old fashion VFW “Chuck Wagon” cookout.
