Nelva Woodlief Perry passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Wake Forest. She was the daughter of the late Bervin and Garlon B. Woodlief and was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Perry; her sisters Iola Dew and Cornell Chappell; and her brother, L.T. Woodlief, Sr.
Nelva was a member of Stony Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Wake County Public Schools where she served as secretary of Wake Forest High School and Central Office of Transportation in Raleigh.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Diane Pearson and husband, Doug; her granddaughter, Jana Mitchell and husband, Brad; her grandson, John Pearson and wife, Jodi; her great-grandchildren, Chase Mitchell, Presley Mitchell, Levi Pearson, Bailey Pearson, and Berkleigh Pearson; her brother, Tom Woodlief and wife, Joyce; her sister-in-law, Gladys Woodlief; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service was 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest by Rev. Jeff Mayfield.
