June 19, 1941 ~ February 3, 2022
Patricia Ross Griffin, 80, of Franklinton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. Patricia was born in Granville County and was the daughter of the late Vester Ross and Ruby Fuller Ross.
Patricia is survived by her three daughters; Vickie Griffin of Oak Island, Algah Bostic and husband Jamie of Franklinton, and Jai Riggs and husband Scott of Bahama. Patricia adored her four grandchildren; Meredith Walrod and husband Hal of Creedmoor, Hillary Bowen and husband John of Wake Forest, and Layne Riggs and Skyler Riggs of Bahama.
Known as “Nanny” by her grandchildren and the community, Patricia was devoted to her family. In addition to raising three daughters, she also helped raise her grandchildren, and was like a second mother to many others. Patricia enjoyed vacationing at the beach, listening to music (especially Michael Bublé), and cooking. She loved animals, and treated the dogs and cats of her children and grandchildren as her own. She was famous for her chocolate pies, which were highly sought after by her family, friends, and the community. Patricia was a member of Mary’s Chapel Baptist Church and loved her church family. Her faith in Jesus guided her life, and she served as a great example of a selfless, loving, and caring Christian woman. Patricia will be missed by all.
Visitation will be held at Bright Funeral Home on Saturday, February 5th from 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Sunday, February 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Mary’s Chapel Baptist church, with Pastor Al Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Mary’s Chapel cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to Hock Family Pavilion or Mary’s Chapel Baptist Church in honor of her memory.
